I’ve loved four men in my life; they all adore cooking, and believe that providing wonderful food is a way of expressing their love for the people they care about. They are my Dad J, my brother M who lives in Australia, my friend (and former partner of 20 years) Steve who died so suddenly in April and, of course, my wonderful Chap.
None of them followed recipes to the letter; unless it’s baking – that’s chemistry.
So I decided to celebrate their love of cooking in my vase today.
Loch Fyne smoked salmon fishcakes handmade by my Chap – #100happydays – 30 December 2015
My Chap made these fishcakes. We are both remembering my Dad J on what would have been his 86th birthday – he is very missed everyday. My Dad could make an excellent fishcake too and loved smoked salmon.

My Chap is a really good cook; he used to be a chef when he was young. He decided to make turkey and ham pie for dinner tonight. I’ve been absolutely full of a cold so it was just what I needed. It was absolutely lovely and definitely today’s #100happydays photo. Continue reading →
